Couplings

KMC, in conjunction with Bearings Plus, Inc., offers several varieties of flexible disc pack couplings. Whether you're interested in our General Purpose GP class (designed to meet industry standard API 610 specifications), or our High Performance HP class (designed in accordance with the more stringent API 671 specifications) for Special Purpose applications. Over the years we have taken advantage of our FEA capabilities and CAD/CAM techniques to develop unique refinements to the traditional shape of the flexible discs. Using modern EDM technology, we avoid geometry limitations of older manufacturing methods; providing a refined contoured shape between adjacent bolt holes. This affords us the ability to design a more optimized shape to handle the combined loading of torque, misalignment, and centrifugal loads. The result is an improved version of an industry standard workhorse.

High Performance "HP" class Disc Pack Couplings

Our High Performance "HP" class Disc Pack couplings are available in two basic design styles. The Reduced Moment (RM) style is designed to provide a lower overhung moment on the shaft end for weight sensitive applications. The Marine Style (MS) is designed to allow a larger bore capacity by using a drop-in flexible center section.

MS - Marine Style

RM - Reduced Moment
